Development management, resource consenting and staged delivery of a Mount Maunganui retail expansion, anchored by a new Four Square.
In the heart of Mount Maunganui, the Mount Central retail centre was expanded to accommodate a new Four Square supermarket while keeping every existing business open and trading throughout.
Kaitiaki provided a multidisciplinary service: our development manager assessed feasibility and set the cost plan, our planning team secured the resource consents, our leasing team helped retain existing tenants, relocate three businesses and introduce new ones, and Phil Bond led project management and tenancy coordination through construction.
The works included building extensions, interior fit-outs, a new carpark and a new refuse room, carefully staged so the centre stayed fully functional for tenants and shoppers from start to finish.
