Qualifications
Having graduated with a bachelor’s degree in environmental planning from the University of Waikato in 2019, Matt has developed a strong foundation in the field of planning, with a specialty in society, politics, and the environment.
Since graduating, Matt has predominantly worked in the private sector, with expertise in a variety of district and regional consent applications. Matt has built strong relationships with council officers, other professionals and clients, and has earned a reputation for being easy to work with, responsive, and skilled at navigating complex situations.
Beyond work, Matt is passionate about outdoor activities such as surfing as well as endurance sports such as running, cycling and triathlons. Matt also spent 1.5 years with his partner in Slovenia, where he worked remotely as a New Zealand planning consultant and was able to grow global perspectives without giving up his connection to New Zealand or even putting a pause on his career.
